The Open Door (Vol. 1 No. 1)
A Hearty Greeting and Sincere Welcome to you all from The Open Door. We are the voices of the International Order of Naths, and this is the inaugural edition of our quarterly newsletter. We are happy to report that the esoteric magick and wisdom of our sages and mages has taken root here in Seattle. This has come together as the formation of a beautiful constellatus of people who both discuss and practice the application of higher wisdom in their lives. The ancient wisdom and lifestyle of the Tantrics and its expression by our own Siddha Gurus and practitioners forms the foundation for our inspiration.
The International Order of Naths has sprung from the ancient spiritual lineages of many lands, but among them most notably are the gems of wisdom which come from the fertile soil of India. These gems have been lovingly written about and expressed by our own Beacon Light and Guide, Shri Gurudev Mahendranath. Shri Mahendranath is the final Guru of both the Adi Nath and Uttara Kaula Tantric Lineages, and it is he who has blessed our International Order of Naths with initiation validity. Master Pattern of the Nath Order
While many Naths and longtime acquaintances of our Work are familiar with the “Master Pattern,” we decided to include it in this edition of our newsletter as a way to introduce ourselves to those of you not yet familiar with some of our fundamental ideas. Meditation and the dissolution of obstructions or kleshas form a firm foundation for our spiritual advancement, and excursions into the divine realm of Magick and ritual offer us the excitement of progressive change and adventure.
Future editions of The Open Door will also include notes by Shri Gurudev Mahendranath as well as reviews and comments on manuscripts written by members of our Nath family. The International Order of Naths has produced a number of booklets in order to express ourselves and make available to the public ideas and inspirations which have made our lives so much more interesting and have contributed to a more dynamic and expansive spiritual experience for all of us.
