Purify the Mind

The November Open Door is on the mind that can hold the work. Two pieces, and the week the kula sat.

Peace, Freedom, and Happiness to All.

Shri Gurudev Mahendranath

Not a Label

By Rose Devi
Editor and initiate of the International Nath Order.

Twilight Yoga I is the first of a trilogy of manuscripts written for the Order. In it Dadaji names three Sanskrit words as the essence of the Natha way of life. Sama: the same, equal, corresponding, balance, equipoise. Samarasa: equipoise in feelings, non-discriminating, the mind at rest. Sahaja: natural joy, amoral, elevating all worldly things to a divine status, to dissolve natural senses into divine expression.

These three words express the attainment of the avadhut, one who has cast off the fetters. The full expression of do what you will is Svecchachara, the fourth keyword of the Natha way of life.

Thus, those who become Nathas do not remain content to wear it around their neck like a label, nor think of it as just something to which they belong. Instead, they strive for the higher attainments (siddhis), practice the rites, rituals, and yoga, and teach others the way out of samsara.
— Dadaji

Belonging is not the practice. The practice is what belonging is for.

He does not ask the householder to copy the Indian sadhu’s renunciation. He asks for sincerity and the right forms of activity. Samsara need not be all misery if the natural joys it offers are used to purify the mind and awaken to immortality. That is the purification this issue means. Not a mood. Not piety. The mind cleaned so higher attainments have somewhere to land.

He names the higher attainments and stops. Kapilnath separates them. The pivotal siddhi waits on a mind coherent enough to hold it.

Siddhi After the Mind is Clean

Always remember, initiation as a word, defines a start or beginning, not a destination.
— Sri Kapilnath

Imperator Magus Mundi of the International Nath Order and disciple of Shri Gurudev Mahendranath.

One of the stated goals of the INO is the individual’s development of occult attainments. The word occult simply reflects a human capacity which is hidden to most people. Among these hidden attainments exists a triad of action at a distance influencing people, things, and ideas. This specific triad may be overly broad for most people. My antidote is to write on with finer granularity.

The Mela

The practice this month is not a method. It is the week the kula sat.

In May the Order gathered for six days at Kula Farms in northern Florida. A new dhuni was opened. An initiation was given. Sri Kapilnath spoke to the circle and to Virtual Kula Discourse, and told them to go into the unknown without fear.

Sri Vijayanath has written the recap.

Peace, Freedom, and Happiness to All.
