Neophyte comes from the Greek neophutos, newly planted. In the International Nath Order it names one who has recently received initiation and who must now grow that seed through sadhana.
An Initiate is anyone who has taken the rite. A neophyte is that person while the planting is still new. It is not a grade, not a term of years, and not a second FAQ. The rite is on Initiation. The work is on Sadhana.
