INO Glossary: Mahasamadhi

The Sanskrit word Mahasamadhi refers to the death or passing on of a saint or Yogi. The word itself suggests the idea that at the time of death, the Yogi forever returns to the Cosmic Spirit ending the processes of Karma and rebirth.
