Macrocosm and Microcosm

(Redirected from Microcosm)

Macrocosm literally means great system and refers to the Universe, in contradistinction to Microcosm or little system, which refers to man. The macrocosm and microcosm are an ancient Greek schema of seeing the same patterns repeated throughout all levels of reality. In Hermeticism, this is related to the phrase, “As above, so below.”
